The Barbour Ashby Wax Jacket is the slimmer version of the iconic Bedale. While the Bedale and Beaufort are traditionally designed for outdoor life and hunting, the Ashby is made for the fast-paced city lifestyle. With its modern, slightly slimmer fit, the Ashby combines timeless British style with contemporary comfort.

The jacket is crafted from 6oz Sylkoil waxed cotton : a durable, water-repellent cotton fabric that develops a distinctive patina over time. The interior is lined with the classic Barbour Tartan , while the sleeves are finished with a smooth polyester lining for easy on and off. The corduroy collar adds an authentic touch and features concealed snaps for the optional attachment of a hood.

In terms of functionality, the Ashby is very well-equipped. The front features two spacious bellow pockets with snap closures and two comfortable hand pockets with soft lining to keep your hands warm. Inside, you'll also find a closable inner pocket for valuables. The stormfly closure with a two-way zipper and snaps provides optimal protection from wind and rain, while ventilation openings at the back ensure breathability.

The Ashby is an interactive jacket , meaning it's compatible with Barbour's zip-in liners (because the Ashby has a slim fit, please order the liner one size smaller) and hoods. This allows you to easily adapt the jacket to the seasons: airy in spring and summer, warm and insulating in autumn and winter. Thanks to this versatility and the durable nature of the waxed cotton, the Ashby is a jacket that will last for years. Regular re-waxing extends its lifespan and keeps the jacket in top condition.
