Sales Advisor in Groningen – Shop Manager – 32 hours per week
The English Hatter will open a new store in Groningen in mid-January – a significant milestone for a brand that has been synonymous with classic menswear, craftsmanship, and a personal approach since 1935. What began almost ninety years ago as a specialty hat shop in Amsterdam has grown into a trusted name for men who value quality and style.

Generations of men have chosen—and continue to choose—The English Hatter for our timeless collection, high-quality materials, and the authentic shopping experience you rarely find anymore. With our new location in a historic building on the Akerkhof square, we're bringing this tradition to the heart of Groningen.
For this opening, we're looking for an experienced and presentable store manager (32 hours) who can not only manage a store but also become the face of The English Hatter in the north of the country. Someone who understands that style starts with attention, and that a customer relationship is sometimes just as important as a product.
Your role
As Store Manager, you'll be responsible for the daily operations of the store. You'll translate our history and brand values into a shopping experience centered around hospitality, tranquility, and craftsmanship. You'll lead the team, actively participate on the shop floor, and maintain a keen eye for both atmosphere and commercial results.

- You inspire and guide your team in service, presentation and product knowledge
- You conduct progress and assessment interviews and maintain a positive atmosphere

Financial & Operational Management
- You monitor turnover, margin and personnel costs with a keen eye
- You create and optimize staff schedules
- You ensure correct administrative processes and reporting
- You analyze sales figures and actively make adjustments
- You keep an overview of inventory management and work processes
Customer Experience & Store Presentation
- You create a shopping environment in which customers feel welcome
- You advise customers about collection, fit and styling
- You ensure a neat and stylish store presentation that fits our tradition
- You contribute ideas about actions, opportunities for improvement and local visibility

- MBO+/HBO work and thinking level
- Financial and commercial insight
- Experience with KPIs and store management
- Strong communication skills, customer-focused and team-oriented
