Marketing & Creation Intern
The English Hatter is a menswear retailer (established in 1935) with locations in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Laren, among others. Our roots lie in the English Country Style: timeless clothing that combines style, heritage, and comfort. What once began as a hat and cap shop has grown into a brand that stands for craftsmanship, quality, and slow fashion. From our headquarters in Aalsmeer, we strengthen our brand experience daily, both online and offline.
Why this is your dream internship
As a Marketing & Creative intern, you'll work on a variety of marketing and communications projects for The English Hatter. You'll have the responsibility and space to develop creatively and professionally, building a strong portfolio within a menswear environment, under the guidance of the Creative/Art & Marketing Manager.
The English Hatter is currently in full development; we're growing as a retailer, and as a brand, we're at the beginning of a new phase, translating our rich history into a strong, contemporary brand identity. During your internship, you'll contribute not only to ongoing projects but also to the brand's continued development.
Your permanent base is our head office in Aalsmeer, where you'll have your own desk. You'll also occasionally visit our stores and have the opportunity to work from home.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Creative/Art & Marketing Manager with various offline and online marketing activities;
- Creating visual and textual content for online channels (website, e-mail, social media);
- Setting up mailings (newsletters, promotions, campaigns);
- Creating offline communication tools (print, store displays, signage, window displays);
- Assisting with photo and video shoots;
- Analyze content performance and share insights with the team;
- Collecting visual inspiration, trends and reference material.
What you will learn from us

- Creative concept development and content production;
- Working with professional tools & workflows (Adobe Suite, Klaviyo, Asana, Shopify);
- Working with strong heritage brands and a matching tone of voice;
- Project-based collaboration and presentation;
- Building a concrete portfolio with tangible end results.
Why you are a good fit for us
- You are following a relevant course (Marketing, Branding, Design, Communication) MBO or HBO level;
- You are available for at least 4 months and at least 4 days a week;
- You have an affinity with fashion, retail, menswear and heritage brands;
- You have a strong sense of style and an eye for detail;
- You are creative, commercial and dare to contribute ideas;
- You are proactive, organized and work in a structured manner;
- You have (basic) knowledge of Photoshop (Indesign, Illustrator or Premiere is a plus);
- You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
